Boston needs to move salary bc they're not gonna spend $200M+ in luxury tax as a second apron team. They also need depth. Beef Stew gives them a solid PF/C on a team friendly contract. Fontecchio as well on the wing. Giving up two SRPs is worth it. They can potentially trade Hauser and open up the cap space to resign Horford and/or Kornet.
Detroit gambles on Porzingis. He's still just 29 years old, and if he can play 65 games, this would be a massive upgrade, as he's a perfect fit next to Duren, as a lethal pick-and-pop stretch big, who defends the rim. Detroit can resign him next summer, and they get two SRPs back as well. Losing Beef Stew and Fontecchio is worth the risk. Especially with the picks.
