Ja heads to Atlanta to take over their starting PG job. Atlanta also resigns CJ McCollum and becomes a serious threat with a DEEP rotation: Ja, NAW, Daniels, J. Johnson, Onyeka, McCollum, Risacher, Newell, Landale, two lottery picks.

Memphis gets off the Ja and Aldama contracts clearing up a ton of future cap space for 2027. They manage to add two future 1st and 2nd in the process. They are very well positioned to tank again in 2026/27 and then will have the cap space to make a splash in the 27 offseason with a likely top 5 draft pick.

Detroit manages to upgrade the soon to be expiring contract and fading Caris LeVert for a solid PF who can take over for Tobias as well as replacing Sasser with Ty Jerome (someone who JB Bickerstaff is familiar with). Detroit apparently had interest in Aldama last offseason and didn’t end up signing him. Here they could trade the expiring contract, Sasser, and a future 1st and 2nd to bring in two solid shooters and their PF replacement for Tobias. Detroit also would have the cap flexibility to extend Duren and Ausar long term while bringing back Tobias (as a backup) and Javonte Green. Ty Jerome takes over as the lead scoring guard on the 2nd unit and this team looks ready to make another deep run.
