Clippers completely blow it up and build a new team around the (soon to be lethal) pick and roll pairing of Darius Acuff and Jalen Duren. They are able to land their Center of the future in Duren, get two solid veterans in expiring contracts with Herro and Wiggins, add a solid rotational guard in Larsson, AND add another 1st round pick in this draft (#21 from Detroit who moved up to pick #13 from Miami). LA could bring back Mathurin and John Collins and roll out a really interesting rotation that could surprise people next season with the added flexibility as the only long term money would be on Duren.
Clippers Possible Rotation: Acuff, Herro, Mathurin, Wiggins, Duren, Larsson, Dunn, Collins, Jones Jr, Lopez, pick #21 (Chris Cenac?)
Miami turns two solid players into an MVP candidate while having enough cap flexibility to bring back Powell and add Brook Lopez as a bench big man.
Heat Possible Rotation: Mitchell, Powell, Kawhi, Ware, Bam, Jakucionis, LeVert, Jaquez, Jovic, Lopez
Orlando gets the table setter and lead ball handler that they’ve been missing. Garland instantly solves the Magic’s offensive problems and would have Suggs, Black, Bane, and Paolo to make up for his defensive shortcomings.
Magic Possible Rotation: Garland, Suggs, Bane, Paolo, Carter Jr, Black, Da Silva, Cain, Richardson, draft pick
Pistons finally land their true #2 in Franz Wagner and avoid overpaying Duren. Wagner easily slides in to the starting PF with Stew being promoted to an every day starter and Goga and Paul Reed will provide additional options off the bench. Detroit also is able to move up from pick #21 to #13 to select Nate Ament from Tennessee. Detroit brings back Tobias, Javonte Green, and Kevin Huerter and is set to run the East again next year.
Pistons Possible Rotation: Cade, Ausar, Robinson, Franz, Stewart // Tobias, Dannis Jenkins, Ron Holland, Ament, Goga // Reed, Javonte Green, Huerter, Sasser, Lanier
