While most people are mocking Ja to the Raptors I do not think that really moves the needle for the Raptors. They would just be doubling down on their strengths and digging themselves a deeper hole when it comes to their weaknesses.

Ja is not a great POA defender, not a great shooter and could be a ball stopper at times. On a team, that is motion driven, already with spacing issues, the last thing we need is a ball dominant, non-spacing, defensive liability.

Instead Derrick White is who we should be really targeting. He’s a dynamic guard that can take lead ball handler responsibilities while being more than capable off ball as well. He will instantly be our best POA defender and can really feed well into the defence the Raptors are looking to play. On top of that he adds size and shooting at the point guard position, two issues the Raptors drastically need to address.
