Comment your thoughts; Are The Trades Fair? What Would You Do as Raptors GM Differently?
Targets: Young Talent
Trades
Trade Boucher and a 2026 FRP (Top 4 Protected) for Day'Ron Sharp
Why Nets Do This; Nets acquire a FRP in a good draft class and a good role playing big on an expiring for a big they will eventually have to pay while also having to pay Nic Claxton. If Nic Claxton walks then I don't know if the Nets would do this.
Why Raptors Do This; Trading away a future protected FRP for a young talented big who has played with Scottie and has good connections with, and get off Chris Boucher's big contract.
Trade Jalen Mcdaniels and a 2026 FRP (Indiana Top 4 Protected), 2028 FRP (Most Favourable Protected) and #31st SRP for Dyson Daniels Why
Why Pelicans Do This; Pelicans acquire a valuable SRP due to the draft being on two different days and a future Indiana FRP as well as a more favourable FRP swap, getting good value for a young talented player who they love, but doesn't get a lot of minutes and falls behind many players in the rotation and hierarchy of the team. Whereas on the Raptors he will develop and be the backup PG to Quickey (and Scottie).
Why the Raptors Do This: Trade some picks for a very talented young player who you can give a larger role to and develop. Also get off Jalen Mcdaniels' bum ass.
