With Jakob Poeltl's extension hitting the payroll this summer and the fact the Raptors are actively looking for his replacement, I think it makes the most sense to move him at the deadline. That is why I think they should call the Nets about Nic Claxton who would be a great defensive rim protector and lob threat for them that fills the need that they were lacking when Poeltl was out half of the season so far. I know two first for Claxton may seem like a lot, but I think that will move the needle for the Nets to trade and also solidifies that Toronto is going all in now and not waiting for next year to compete for the title. They also get a second in return as I also think the Raptors would still want a future asset for Poeltl and Agbaji.
The Nets continue their rebuild but replacing their C. They have plenty of cap space for this to not bother them for a while and he would most likely be on this team until they start getting more competitive as he will be used as a bridge player or vet mentor. As for Agbaji, he comes in getting more minutes playing in the second half of the Nets season where it doesn't matter at all and will obviously be showcasing his talents for other teams to look at and be interested in picking him up via a sign and trade as he will be a RFA this summer. The Nets also add more weapons to their collection with 27 and 31 and could quite possibly position themselves into the top 5 this draft with or without a trade.
