The Raptors might be looking to get into the first round. Idk. I’m not Masai. BUT IF THEY COULD! This is how they might do it, THE SECOND TIME:

This depends on whether Orlando is looking for a talent upgrade at the five spot. I specifically left Wendell alone bc I think they value his floor spacing and would elect to keep him as one of the longest tenured guys there behind Issac.

The raps get Mo Wagner, Goga, Caleb Houstan, and Orlando’s #16 pick. I have been a fan of Orlando’s center room for a long time. They are all awesome imo. It would be hard, borderline unlikely, to move on from Jak especially bc he has two years left on his deal. That being said, Mo and Goga might be worth it to me. Mo is however recovering from an ACL tear from December, so this might be a risk Masai and Bobby aren’t willing to entertain.

I initially sprung for the #25 pick, but Mo’s ACL tear and losing our cornerstone big made me think we deserve more. For our purposes, we get the #16 pick, but irl this would be a long discussion between both front offices over which pick goes.

Mo and Goga would bring more youth and explosiveness to our center room and may prove to be cheaper than Jakob long-term. Caleb Houstan was thrown in to make the money work, but I’m not mad at a young Canadian shooter we can work with.

Orlando gets Jakob Poeltl and our #39 pick. This could the solidifying move to help Orlando contend in the East. He doesn’t help with spacing but he is a capable hub, play finisher, and screener on offense who deters a lot of shots at the rim. He brings another veteran presence next to KCP and should be a fan favorite. Losing their young bigs and the #16 pick would be a worthy gamble imo. Again, Wendell stays in Orlando and provides high level backup minutes.
