Trade #1: Raptors Receive - Pat Connaugthon + 2nd round pick Bucks Receive - Davion Mitchell
Rationale: The Bucks being a second apron team, they don’t have the flexibility like other teams to make big time moves. This is a low risk move that could help solve their deficiency in POA defence and if it does not work out, they could simply let Davion walk in free agency. The Raptors get a 2nd round pick for someone who would likely walk this offseason, and could likely flip Connaughton for another 2nd round pick next year.
Trade #2: Raptors Receive - Zeke Nnaji Nuggets Receive - Chris Boucher
Rationale: The Raptors get a younger centre who they currently have time to try out and develop, while the Nuggets get a more proven player that can play spot play-off minutes.
Trade #3: Raptors Receive - Kevin Huerter + 2 2nd round picks Kings Receive - Bruce Brown
Rationale: The Kings finally get a knacky do-it-all wing that can come off the bench and replace Huerter’s mins with more efficient production, while the Raptors accept that they must cut their losses short and capitalize on at least a few 2nd round picks before they lose Brown for nothing in free agency.
Trade #4: Raptors Receive - Maxi Kleber + 2nd round pick Mavericks Receive - Kelly Olynyk
Rationale: Kelly has not been the player the Raptors expected and it’s time to move on while he has some value left. The Mavs capitalize on Toronto’s situation and trade for a floor spacing big that can not only give them solid backup big mins, but can also play alongside Gafford/Lively when it’s required to go big.
