I just want to start out by saying that this might be too much. Not because Coby White or Yves Missi are bad players, but simply because we're trading out four players, including Gradey and Ja'kobe, for two players.

Outside of that, Coby White and Yves Missi would be amazing players for this team, and would address two significant issues for this team, that being 3pt shooting and center play, respectively. Also, while this trade says we don't duck the tax, if the Pelicans trade us Missi via their 5.7 million TMLE, we can duck it. Losing Ja'kobe makes this deal hurt. He's an exciting young player with really impressive perimeter defence. It would especially hurt if we don't resign Coby White in the offseason. But, I think it's a fun win-now move, without having to push too many chips to the middle.

On the Bulls side of things, something tells me Coby White won't be resigning for them. If that's the case, they can get off his contract now and at least get some value out of it. Ochai expires in the offseason, and I already spent enough time glazing Ja'kobe, so that would be a nice addition. Now, if they plan on resigning him, then this probably is undervaluing Coby White. Maybe they should also get some seconds, even if they don't plan on resigning him. Who knows?

Last but not least, this feels like a no-brainer for the Pelicans. They get two young pieces for one, and get a 2027 second for their troubles. Given the fact that an Ochai + two seconds deal is floating around, I would say this is far more valuable for them in comparison.

Now, what do I know? Maybe I'm overvaluing or undervaluing some players, and someone else with a different perspective will look at this deal and laugh. So, let me know what you think!
