For the Raptors: Barrett is expiring, he's not a good defender at the highest level, and while I want him to succeed, Trey Murphy is simply better in all aspects. Effectively giving up two firsts, Gradey, and RJ for Trey seems like a good trade on our end. For the Pelicans: I can't imagine Trey Murphy wants to stay in New Orleans, so they'd probably be fine letting him go. They were asking for 3 firsts at the deadline. So, two firsts and some young pieces from the Raptors and Nets seems like it would match their asking price. For the Nets: They don't own their first round pick next year, so they simply must be competitive. Say whatever you like about RJ, but the guy is a talented bucket getter who gets way too much hate in this league. Giving up Mann, Clowney, and Saraf for Barrett seems like a no-brainer to me, given how RJ compares to them. All I've heard all season is that Saraf is out of his depth, that Clowney is mid, although having one of his more productive years in recent memories, and that Mann doesn't provide much and was given far too big a contract. Doesn't feel like they're giving up much of anything for him, although I'm not a Nets fan, so what do I know? Let me know what you think!
