The Hornets lack a backup point guard that is ready to help them contend. KPJ is perfect for his price and is only 23; he can be a part of the Charlotte organization for the next decade. KPJ is also a great scorer, and in the event Rozier’s price tag ever becomes greater than his production, KPJ can be a great, young replacement for him in the future.
The Rockets just drafted Amen Thompson and signed Fred VanVleet in a two week span back in July. I don’t think KPJ has a spot in the Rockets future, so sending him to a better situation for both parties could be better. Cody Martin and Nick Richards are two quality players that could definitely find their way into the Rocket’s rotation in this situation. The two second round picks are also a great addition to the Rocket’s pick collection.
