Why for the Kings: Malik Monk's role is a valuable one, but it's a luxury at 6'3 and he doesn't seem to have apex scoring potential. Why not then improve the athleticism and size of the team? Especially to get Ellis more minutes. They get a first round pick for their trouble.
Why for the Lakers: The Lakers have tried to form a big-3 forever, and haven't been able to do it. Until now. CJ is the piece the Lakers need. Someone who can score from the perimeter and carry some of LBJ's burden but he can also playmake.
Why for the Pelicans: Anytime you can get 3 first round picks for a 6'2 guard in his mid-30's, you've gotta do it. The rebuild begins in earnest around Zion/Herb Jones/Trey Murphy/Dejounte Murray.
Why for my 76ers: I'm tired of having one of the worst benches in basketball. Monk fixes that instantly with his shooting and spacing. I don't care for Len per se, he's just there to make the salaries work.
