Suns ownership spent a lot to make em contenders. They use the 10th pick as a get out of jail card to put a more complete roster around Booker to keep him. The roster is more depth heavy with more defenders & probably tops out at as a firing playoff team but for the Suns they don't own their own picks so they need to remain competitive as there's no benefit to being a lottery team without their own picks. They in return get a number of 2nds to replenish the roster with role players. PG isn't the same player but Beal is the worst contract in the league, he's a buyout player, dealing 10 to dump him & deal for a two way player like PG keeps them competitive for the short term with the added defense & playmaking. The only other way out of this mess is to deal Booker which the ownership doesn't want to do. A lineup of a big + PG13, Dillon Brooks, Booker and Jalen Green is a good enough one to sneak them as high as the 6th seed but no lower than the 10th. it also shores up their defense as well. Theyd still have to wait 1-2 years in cap hell but at least they'd stay competitive for now & its not their own picks anyway.
Jazz - The only way this works is if Beal agrees to this so its essentially getting #10 to buy out Beal. This tank job has not done the job, they now take 2 swings in the lottery to fill out their roster while rebuilding. Ace Bailey looks to be a future star. Only losing a mid level star like Lauri to buy out Beal & take Bailey + another young lottery player seems worth the swing
Sixers - losing Ace Bailey hurts but swapping out Lauri, a younger 4 for PG & keeping a high lottery pick is worth it even if you also give up a potential NBA role player at the top of the 2nd rd. The combination of Lauri, Maxey & McCain insulates them better against another Joel Embiid injury a bit more than PG13's presence did.
Nothing changes for the Rockets.
