Rockets: Eason has been having a stellar season, and I think now is as good a time as any to sell high. Getting a protected first from the Sixers is highly likely to convey, another good trade asset. When DFS comes back, his skill set can be kinda redundant with Eason. Also, he’s up for an extension this upcoming season, and their books are already a little full, especially with the upcoming Amen contract. You also get McCain who, yes has had a down season, is still a great shooter and coming off injury rn, so you buy low on a ROY talent just last season in a desperate position of need and creation.
76ers: Getting rid of McCain and a protected first can be a lot for Sixers fans to stomach, but Eason is the exact type of player we need. Great shooter (although soon to come down surely) fits around our stars, elite cutter , solid rebounder which, as we can see with embiid, is nessacary now, and of course, worlds better defender, can guard 2-4 credibly and someone we can actually throw on opposing star wings. Ik we gotta pay him but , for our team construction, is worth it. Fits around both our stars very well, and can play next to embiid and Maxey, or can fit on the VJMax timeline. Who says no and why?
