Why the Sixers do it: If Danny Green is brought back and Thybulle retained, the 76ers' perimeter defense should remain good enough to compete without Simmons and Beal/Embiid sharing a court together will not only make scoring easier for each other, but also Tobias whose slashing midrange game has been limited by Simmons' clogging of the paint. Maxey is an unfortunate loss but in order to make the most of Embiid's prime the Sixers must catch a big fish this offseason to beat teams like Brooklyn and Milwaukee in the 2022 playoffs.

Potential lineup: Curry-Beal-Thybulle-Harris-Embiid

Why the Warriors do it: Spacing with Ben Simmons will be an issue but if any team can overcome playing with 2 guys unwilling/unable to shoot the 3 ball then it's definitely this one, with Steph proving in 2020 he'll hit ridiculous shots regardless of double teams and non-shooters around him. The positive aspect is Simmons brings sorely missed playmaking, rebounding and perimeter defense, while Simmons and Curry in transition should be unstoppable. With Klay and Steph stretching the floor, Simmons should hide his lack of shooting better by getting to the rim more than he did in Philly. If Simmons can improve his interior defense to guard centers adequately then there's no reason why small ball cannot work. 2 of the game's best defenders mixed with 2 of the game's best shooters (ever) should be entertaining viewing at the very least.

Potential lineup: Curry-Thompson-Offensive-minded wing-Simmons-Green

Why the Wizards do it: Beal is at the peak of his powers now and regardless of his numbers next season the team will need to prove they can compete for a championship (not just a low playoff seed) in order to resign him come the 2023 offseason. If they believe they can win with Beal-Westbrook then don't do this trade, but if the front office can't improve the rest of the roster around them it is just a waste of Beal's prime years and his trade value right now. Wiseman and Maxey while entering the draft with #7, #15 and #28 is not a bad start to a rebuild and late 2020s picks may be valuable if the Sixers lose either of Embiid or Beal by then. Wiggins' value come 2022 trade deadline could also fetch some more young assets or draft capital. Westbrook would likely be moved on to a contender following this trade.

Potential lineup: Maxey-Wiggins-Avdija-Huchimura-Wiseman (likely would use the 7th picks and 14th picks to upgrade guard play)
