Why Suns do this?
Love, 32, has suited up in all of 162 games since the end of the 2016-17 season. This past year with the Cavaliers saw Love average a mere 12.2 points to go with 7.4 rebounds on 41% shooting from the field. He can still hit the three-point shot and is a mismatch when it comes to playing the stretch four or stretch five positions. The Suns give up crowder,Dario Saric,Jalen Smith and Cameron Johnson merely to match salaries but in return for the haul they give up suns get the cleveland 2022 FRP which is likely to be a top 5 pick and the 2024 is also a top 10 pick plus the srps they get are from houston and spurs meaning they are likely to fall between 30 - 40 picks. So valuewise they get a huge bonus especially in the next season, after the trade suns can sign FAS like Milsap, redick,Ilyasova to fill out the roster spots.

Why Cavaliers do this?
The biggest loss for cavs here is that they lose their 2022 and 2024 FRPS which are highly likely to be top 10 picks in the draft and might aswell be a top 3 sometimes depending on the lottery but still they are able to get off a massive 2 year 60 million deal and get some nice young pieces like Cameron Johnson and Jalen Smith who are top draft picks who didnt get much minutes where they could either flip em for more value later on and they get high tier role players crowder and Saric who will be of high demand among contenders and cavaliers could easily ship them away for much more value or just keep them in squad and get their services.
