Suns Land Kyrie Irving
Suns Receive:
Kyrie Irving
Do I need to justify this deal from the Suns’ point of view? They’re building a super team. That would hold true by any standard. Adding Irving to a core featuring Durant, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton would leave the Suns with the most talent in the NBA. In fact, they may already have the most talent in the NBA.

Two First-Round Pick Swaps
The Mavericks don’t do this deal unless Irving wants to go to another team. Let’s be completely honest here. How surprised would you be if Kyrie Irving wanted to go to another team? If that would inspire any surprise in you, I'm not sure which NBA you’ve been paying attention to. In that event, the Mavericks will have their backs against a wall. Irving is a free agent. In theory, he could walk without them receiving anything. With that in mind, this sign-and-trade scenario should suit the Mavericks. After all, Paul may be aging, but he’s still a starting-caliber point guard. He’ll be a nice compliment to Doncic.
