Saric gives Portland a cheaper alternative floor-spacing big to Love and Gallo whom they were unable to acquire. Swapping Covington and Mclemore in the deal also shaves around 6 million off their cap this season. The two 2nds are sweeteners for taking Sarics' salary next season. But won't matter too much with the cap flexibility they'll have next season anyways.

For the suns, Covington gives us a versatile veteran wing that can guard multiple positions (1-5) and who can also play small ball 5 for us situationally. Mclemore gives us another SG option we can go to when Shamet is struggling. And both would equate to around 14 million in expirings to help our cap situation next season.
