I've looked at a couple of draft pick value charts and this is a roughly lateral move. It makes sense for the Jazz to want to consolidate draft picks since they want to accumulate talent, and the Suns want to move back for additional draft picks because they need to fill out the rest of their roster and be able to establish a continuity of players going forward instead of having a yearly rotating set of vet mins filling out the 8-15th roster spots.
