Minnesota: Converts volatile / misaligned assets into two rotation-grade specialists and improves bench defense and center minutes
Sacramento: Trades an undervalued, underplayed role player they're likely to lose. Takes a swing on offensive upside + picks
Orlando: Clears positional redundancy (Mo Wagner coming back), monetizes Goga before his value stagnates === Rationale: Wolves get Goga Bitadze 8.3M (ORL) and Keon Ellis 2.3M (SAC) > Why? Really great backup center, underutilised by the Magic, has some nice passing, is a great rebounder, solid defender and has good touch. Would probably be one of the better backup centers we can get. Only 26. I think he's actually the best center on the Magic, but they don't seem to think the same. > Why? Keon is going to walk this offseason because the Kings don't play him enough and suck, they get a guard that has some potential and 2 2nds. Eubanks is also a nothing so it doesn't hurt to give him up. Keon is a really good POA defender which is sorely needed, he scales really well with minutes and like Goga has really great advanced stats. 2 guys that know their roles.
Kings get Rob Dillingham + 2027 RD2 (MIN) + 2029 RD2 (MIN)+ 2032 RD2 (MIN) > Why? Kings take a swing on a high upside developmental scorer and plenty of draft capital. This move capitalizes on Keon Ellis as he's most likely going to walk on FA. Rob has shown flashes of greatness on court.
Magic get Terrence Shannon Jr. 2.6M (MIN) + Drew Eubanks 2.2M (SAC) + Leonard Miller 2.2M (MIN) + 2026 RD2 (MIN) + 2030 RD2 (MIN) > Why? They get some draft capital, a good high upside wing in TSJ and a player with potential for someone that plays limited minutes. Moritz Wagner is also scheduled to return and they prefer him over Goga as well. Drew Eubanks will be the placeholder center for excess center minutes behind Mo Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr.
MIN ROSTER: Starters: DDV / Ant / Jaden / Julius / Rudy 6th to 8th: Naz Reid (absorbing Julius bench minutes) / Goga Bitadze (behind Rudy Gobert's) / Keon Ellis (covers pretty much SG/SF minutes behind Ant and/or Jaden) Deep Bench: Bones Hyland (proven to be a microwave scorer = best off the bench when scoring is needed) / Mike Conley (veteran stabilizer when offense stagnates) + Joe Ingles (Joe Ingles) Expendables: with Keon Ellis now on this team, Jaylen Clark's role seem to be shadowed. Keon just Clark but better at everything at this stage
