Blockbuster that sends Ja to the Twolves

SUCCESS

Timberwolves receive Ja Morant Isaiah Collier

Grizzlies receive Naz Reid Mike Conley Rob Dillingham 1st-round pick

Jazz receive Joe Ingles Three 2nd-round picks

Minnesota is swinging for the fences. Ja Morant gives the Wolves something they don’t currently have: a true superstar offensive engine who can bend defenses every possession. Pairing Morant with Anthony Edwards creates one of the most explosive backcourts in the league — speed, rim pressure, shot creation, and star power all rolled into one. Defenses can’t load up on Ant anymore. Isaiah Collier is the sneaky bonus. He’s a young, cost-controlled guard with real upside as a downhill playmaker. Collier can develop without pressure as a rotation guard. Minnesota gives up real depth — Naz Reid hurts, Conley’s leadership matters, and Dillingham has upside — but this is the kind of consolidation move contenders make when they believe they’re one star away.

Naz Reid instantly plugs into Memphis’ frontcourt as a versatile big who can score, stretch the floor, and survive playoff matchups. He fits next to Jaren Jackson Jr. beautifully and eases the offensive burden on the frontcourt. Mike Conley is the culture piece. He’s a known quantity in Memphis- can organize an offense, mentor younger players, and reduce volatility after years of turbulence. Rob Dillingham gives the Grizzlies a high-upside guard swing — a young scorer they can develop or later flip. Add in a 1st-round pick, and suddenly Memphis has replenished its asset base. This trade lets the Grizzlies reshape their identity from one built around chaos to one built around depth, balance, and optionality — without fully bottoming out.

Isaiah Collier moving out opens development reps elsewhere, while Joe Ingles gives the Jazz a beloved veteran presence — someone who knows the organization, mentors young players, and helps maintain culture without demanding minutes. The real prize is the three second-round picks. Utah has consistently turned seconds into rotation players or used them as grease in future trades. They’re stacking flexible, low-risk assets while staying nimble for bigger opportunities down the road. This is a classic Jazz move: not flashy, but smart.
