Knicks are rumored to want DDV back. Mitchell Robinson is the only one that matches salary 1 for 1, but him alone doesn't do much for the wolves. Wolves biggest needs are PG and back up C. Wolves have Reid and Randle competing for minutes at the PF position, and our lineup is horrendous defensively without Gobert on the floor. This moves Reid into starting role where he can be paired up with two defensive/rebounding bigs. Wolves get a backup PG in Deuce who can start until Kyrie comes back from injury.
Wolves: Reasons addressed above. New Lineup when healthy:
Kyrie-Ant-McDaniels-Reid-Gobert
McBride-Shannon Jr-Clark-Robinson
Knicks: They want DDV, get a Center back as well in return for losing Robinson. In the end, they swap Deuce for DDV, and Robinson for Smith. Hack-a-Robinson is no more for the Knicks.
Bulls: Get young project Center, books stay clear for the summer for any future Free Agent signings. Maybe a 2nd or two? After the hot start at the beginning, they are now on the edge on the playin in a already weak East.
Mavs: Mavs realistically have firesale and embrace the tank, Randle returns home and can put up his solid 24p/9r/5a, get a young PG prospect and a 2nd or two for Kyrie who is coming off of an ACL injury returning later this season.
