5 Reasons the Warriors Beat The Celtics

  1. The Celtics turned the ball over like crazy. They’ve had a problem with this throughout the regular season and the Warriors’ defense exploited this. The Celtics couldn’t do the same.

  2. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were dependent on iso ball a lot this series, which simply isn’t the best way to play to play basketball. You can likely get better looks moving the ball and passing.

  3. The Warriors’ role players stepped up unlike the Celtics’. Gary Payton, Kevon Looney, and Otto Porter Jr were better than Derrick White, Robert Williams III, and Grant Williams. Looney showed his value in these playoffs due to being a great rebounder and a smart defender. Otto Porter Jr was hitting shots, and stole Kevon’s starting spot despite having bad defense.

  4. Draymond and Wiggins STEPPED UP. Tatum scored just 13 points this game, and that’s mostly because Andrew Wiggins has played great defense on him. He’s flipped the script of his career, being a great defensive guy and finally utilizing his athleticism. Draymond finally had a good all around game and he looked much better defensively. He did a great job playmaking out of dribble handoffs.

  5. Steph Curry can be impossible to guard with the right supporting cast around him, which he had. You couldn’t just double Steph because everyone else would be open. You can’t face guard him or he’ll burn you off dribble handoffs/let the other guys play 4 on 4. You can’t go under screens or he’ll shoot. You can’t double because of his amazing short roll passing.
