It pisses me off to unbelievable levels that Zach is available for nothing but salary filler and the Warriors haven't done anything about it yet.
Why the Warriors Do It: LeBron James isn't on the market, so including Jimmy Butler, Zach LaVine is the best possible second option available, averaging 22/4/4 a game on close to 50/40/80 while having zero help apart from Vucevic. He's a capable playmaker and very good offensive creator, so putting the ball in his hands isn't an issue since Steph is happy to play off-ball. Zach is also a great off-ball player due to his shooting so it wouldn't be a huge issue for him to fit in offensively.
With Steph's gravity around LaVine can easily average 26 on even better efficiency. He's essentially Buddy Hield on steroids with a 50 inch vertical, so losing Buddy doesn't really hurt, nor does WIggins' offensive production since Zach is a far better scorer. Losing his defense hurts but the Warriors have been a great defense all season long, so that's not the issue, and Zach has become a passable defender anyway. With Kuminga, Green, and a potential big man upgrade or even Looney/Jackson-Davis at center, there's very little issue covering for him. Anderson has been a non-contributor and just in case the Warriors have to outbid somebody they throw in the lottery-protected pick. DUNLEAVY PLEASE
Because of his crappy contract he has zero suitors apart from the Nuggets, who don't have any picks, so this is the easiest out-bid for the Warriors ever. The main trade chip for Denver would be Michael Porter Jr., who has a crappy contract of his own and has no guarantee of turning up as a star even with a bigger role. The only major loss is Wiggins' defense, really, but the Warriors can more than manage putting Kuminga/Green on the opposing best player.
Why the Bulls Do it: Frankly, because the Bulls need to start losing and LaVine is singlehandedly preventing it (they haven't won with him out) and NOBODY WANTS HIM. It's beyond me how he hasn't been traded yet and Bradley Beal was. The primary goal for Chicago is to start losing games fast and create financial flexibility. They'll get Anderson and Hield's small contracts, which can easily be traded at the deadline to a buying contender, and Wiggins has a much nicer contract than LaVine does at the moment. They get a pick and a flier on Gui Santos for their trouble, but Chicago really has no room to negotiate right now.
