The Warriors add 2 young stars in their mid-20s to keep the franchise afloat after Curry retires.
From what I've seen, the Grizzlies are looking to move on from Ja, but other teams won't take him unless they give up picks. So the Griz take Butler's expiring to clear the books around the young core.
Also, Pelicans are asking for 3 firsts for Murphy, so they get that here, plus the Warriors don't have to overpay and only use 2 of their own firsts.
++HOW JA COULD FIT:++ You may think Ja is a weird fit on the Warriors, but he can be a playmaker (Averaged ~8 assists) and provide in non-Steph minutes, also him taking a backseat to steph and even murphy could be benefitial for him, Also Ja's slashing ability could fit well next to shooters like Steph, Podz, Murphy, Yaxel, Porzingis, and Horford. I think since the grizzlies might pay to get off him this could be a risk the warriors should be willing to take.
Free Agency Moves:
Al Horford: Opt-Out > 2yrs $14M (already happened)
Draymond: Opt-In OR Opt-Out for a cheaper/longer deal (2yr $36M?)
Porzingis: 2yr $30M
Melton: Opt Out
Keon Ellis: 3 yr $27M - $8M First Year
Thybulle: 1yr minimum
Both Ellis and Thybulle can make up for Curry and Ja's lack of perimeter Defense
Bassey: 1yr minimum
Rotation:
Starters: Curry, Ja, Murphy, Green, Porzingis
Bench: Podz, Ellis, Santos, Yaxel, Horford
Deep Bench: Richard, Thybulle, Jones, Bassey
This is a good rotation that can be a top 4-5 team in the west and make noise now and in the future with a decent young core of Ja, Murphy, Podz, Santos, Yaxel and others. (also stay under second apron)
