If Giannis really wants to leave Milwaukee this summer and has his eyes on the Warriors, I think this could be one of the more realistic trade scenarios to make it happen. Given the salary cap realities, Golden State would almost have to include Draymond Green in any outgoing package to make the numbers work.
In this scenario, the Warriors land Giannis without giving up Jimmy, forming a terrifying trio of Curry-Butler-Giannis. With a few smart depth signings, they could be right back in championship contention.
If the Warriors were ever going to trade Draymond, and if Draymond was ever going to leave on his own terms, it would likely be in a deal like this. He’s always been close with LeBron, and playing alongside his longtime friend in L.A. might actually appeal to him.
From the Lakers' perspective, they part with Knecht (who likely isn't thrilled after the failed trade) and Rui to land Draymond, a perfect locker room fit with LeBron and a badly needed solution to their defensive and interior issues following the AD trade.
Meanwhile Milwaukee begins their post-Giannis rebuild with several promising pieces: Kuminga (via S&T), Moody, Hachimura, and Knecht, all young, versatile players with upside, and they add two first-round picks on top.
All three teams get something meaningful out of it, so could this actually be a potential "win-win-win" blockbuster trade?
