Nets get:
Khris Middleton (wing/creator) — $33.30M this season
Bilal Coulibaly (young 2-way wing) — $7.28M this season
Marvin Bagley III (big depth) — 1-year deal; cap hit shown around $2.30M
2026 1st-round pick (via OKC/HOU/LAC) + 2027 1st-round pick
Claxton fits Trae Young perfectly, Claxton is an elite vertical spacer/rim-runner type center who can screen, dive, finish lobs, and protect the rim. With Trae, that’s instant pick-and-roll structure: Trae pulls two → Claxton gets dunks / short-roll looks.
The Only downside of Washington doing this is losing the two way abilities from Bilal who also fits perfectly with Trae but in most realistical trade the nets would want a great young player like Bilal who has a great upside but wasnt that productive on the Wizards roatation maybe a fresh start around a great young team like the nets would help his game. The Nets also gain a veteren presence in Middleton and a decent back up big in Bagley who can give you 12 and 8 every night which replaces the production of Claxston and gives a bigger role to guys like Danny wolf and DeRon Sharpe. This postions Brooklyn to get serious help in the 2026 Draft if by the deadline they get rid of guys like Claxston, Michael Porter Jr. and Even Cam Thomas for some draft capital and young pieces that could help the rebuild or even move up in the 2026 draft to get guys like Darryn Peterson, AJ Dybantsa, Cameron Boozer, or Caleb Wilson.
