Wizards Trade Young Core Amidst Jerami Grant Buzz

SUCCESS

The Wizards finally pull the trigger to try to compete. They get another solidified starter with upside to pair with Kyle Kuzma and Bradley Beal. Grant is a 6'8 wing who provides another high-scoring option that can also fall back and play other roles in the Wizards offense. He also provides length on defense with the ability to guard multiple positions, which has been the Wizards defensive gameplan. Also have the ability to try and develop Killian Hayes, who was the #7 pick in 2020 but just hasn't panned out. On the other side, the Pistons get a younger core to surrounding Cade Cunningham. Rui Hachimura has the potential to replace Jerami Grant as he has a similar play style. Additionally, the Pistons get a young stretch big offensive Center in Thomas Bryant who is fresh off a torn ACL yet is still only 24. When healthy he averaged 15ppg while shooting above 40% from 3. They also acquire rookie Corey Kispert (pick #15), who had a slow start but could be a nice sharpshooter to pair with Cade. I think he could play a role similar to what Joe Harris does. Aaron Holiday was thrown in there to match contracts and give a guard back.
