Why OKC does this: it is suspected that OKC will trade CP3 and their other veterans to potential contenders and with OKC and Billy Donovan parting ways it has only fueled the fire of those rumors. However while that is not a bad idea and it will allow them to set up more assets for their future. There are not many places that have assets of value that allow for a trade that makes since for both for the receiving team and for the thunder, and the thunder has 23-24 picks already in the next 6 drafts so do they really need any more picks from teams that will be picking at the back of the draft? What if Presti and paul see an opportunity to make the thunder a stronger contender for the next few years while getting back under the luxury tax!? Receving wiggins back in a trade will give the Thunder what the desperatly need in getting another scorer one with all star potiental without him having to be the #1 option. The thunder sign Wood before making the trade so they can make sign him to a decent contract for several years... then if they can get Gallo to resign because he wants to play for a contender but no other contender has cap room so resigning with thunder for a year will allow him to contend and get paid. Wood is up and coming and is better suited offensive threat.
Why GSW do this: they get Adams who can hold down the middle and set screens and get rebounds and be a defensive presence in the middle. The Warriors still have their 2nd overall pick where they can get the player that can really help them score in Ball that three gaurd line up with Ball, Curry, and Thompson could be deadly. If Adams doesnt pan out( which i cant see) then it clears more cap room for for 2021 super free agency where they would be stuck with Wiggins contract otherwise.
