(Hypothetical) Shedeur Sanders is involved in the trade. But, so far he has a good start considering WRs dropping wide open passes and an inconsistent OL, he's the starter for this week against the Raiders. Anyways, the reason why I created this trade was because Cleveland may stumble into too many wins to chase a top 2026 QB prospect, especially if only one or two enter the draft. Fernando Mendoza is ranked as the only definite first-round quarterback talent. Dante Moore and Ty Simpson are first-rounders, but reports right now are that Moore will return to Oregon next year. Last season, Murray was a top-10 quarterback by QBR. His 63.4 mark was sandwiched between Patrick Mahomes (64.6) and Jalen Hurts (62.5). It ranked ahead of Justin Herbert (61.7) and Matthew Stafford (61.5). Deshaun Watson is eating $18.2M cap space and Murray is worth $22.8M, but it isn't as difficult to create space for his base salary rather than convincing free agents to join Cleveland. I think the financials are important here after Paul DePodesta's departure. Arizona accepts because they can take a flier on Shedeur Sanders who showed promise in his debut, he can succeed with the Cardinals, at worst, he'd just be a project right behind efficient passer Jacoby Brissett. We won't give a first due to the Watson trade, but our 2nds and 3rds are basically worth 1sts and 2nds due to our team value.
