Chiefs run game is scary
Kenneth Walker put up a whopping 173 rushing yards including a 60 yard house call on 4th and 1. He made defenders miss all night, and 179 yards after contact. If he keeps up even 60% of that production the Chiefs are gonna be unstoppable. If that wasn't enough, Emmitt Johnson the rookie had multiple big plays, and it's looking like we might have a Gibbs/Montgomery situation in KC.
Mahomes getting warmed up
Although he had a slow start, going 2/12 at first, he finished 15/27, completing all but 2 of his last 15 throws. Total of 184 passing yards, 2 TDs and a pick, on top of his element to the run game where he made men miss on an early touchdown run. This Chiefs offense is scary.
Bo Nix subpar
Bo Nix was not himself last night, going 17/28, 1 touchdown and a pick, and fumbling 3 times losing one. He was constantly trying to extend plays when he needed to throw the ball away, rarely working out as he took 4 sacks. He was off the mark in key moments, broncos being awful on 3rd down.
Broncos line troubles
The Broncos offensive line was very strangely off, not often their issue. Bo Nix was constantly being pressured, causing some of his struggles. The Chiefs pass rush was getting home more often than I'd expected, and they need to get that fixed for Nix to bounce back.
Denver defensive woes
In the first half the Broncos defense was pretty good, but it fell apart completely late in the game. The seconday was great, not allowing any receivers over 20 yards. Their worst offense was a missed tackle on Kelce allowing a 59 yard catch and run. They allowed a total of 172 net pass yards, that wasn't the glaring issue. What was a problem was allowing 220 rushing yards. The tackling was awful, constantly getting punished and just allowing extra yards that shouldn't have been allowed.
Overall Chiefs got hot firing on all cylinders, while the Broncos struggled on all accounts. Chiefs have a date with the Colts sunday night, while the Broncos got a brutal slate, starting with the Jags at the 4 pm est slot
