I wanted to make one big post about all four games right after the game, but went to bed shortly after the Ole Miss game was over. But, here it is a tad late.
Miami vs Ohio State
Two key points going into the game: Is Carson Beck going to be able to control his turnover issues against a good defense and is Miami's defense legit? I think both were proved correct. Carson Beck did a phenomenal job managing the game and making the right plays, but he is not the reason they won. The reason they won is because the Miami defense exposed the Ohio State offense who hasn't played any good defenses outside of Texas and Indiana in which they only scored a combined 24 points. The O Line was atrocious, they were able to cover the pro bowl WR's really well and made Julian Sayin look like a little kid with little experience. They pressured him, sacked him, made him scared and throw away the ball. They exposed and proved that Ohio State was never ready for the bright lights this season.
Oregon vs Texas Tech
First off, probably one of the best defensive games in the CFP this season. Both defense were able to contain both offenses and it came down to who will score a touchdown first which Oregon proved they were able to do even with an alright performance from Moore, though I do think his underperformance was due in part with bad snaps from Iapani Laloulu who has looked like one of the best C's in college football but just had a bad game.
Alabama vs Indiana
Coming into this game, every team since the start if the 12 team playoff with a bye has never won, this will continue with Alabama performing like they did in the second half against Oklahoma, right? Wrong. Alabama hasn't had a run game all season and Ty Simpson has been banged up for the second half of the season and hasn't looked like a Heisman contender QB like he did against Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee. The run game still wasn't there and Indiana's defense cracked Ty's ribs on that fumble. For Alabama to win the game, they had to make plays to get on top first but once I saw them score 10 points, I knew it was game over and Alabama won't be able to claw back like they did with Oklahoma. Indiana on the other hand is the team to beat. They are undefeated and the number 1 seed for a reason.
Ole Miss vs Georgia
It was like 21-12 and I was getting ready to go to bed and getting ready to make this post early. It just looked like Georgia proved they are the better team, than they missed the FG. That is what changed the game and Ole Miss rallied and won the game. This Rebels team feels hurt and disrespected by their HC leaving for a bigger job and have came together to put on a show and try to win with their HC making money watching them play and win. Now that they are in the semis and the transfer portal has officially opened, I am curious to see how many will leave and how many will stay at Ole Miss.
There are my takeaways. Let me know your thoughts down below!
