March Madness is one of the best things in sports. 68 teams competing for the national championship. But how would that fare in football instead of basketball? Well I’m finding out.
For anyone who doesn’t know how March Madness seeding works, let me explain it to you. This isn’t exactly how it’s done, but it’s how I’m doing it.
The champions of every conference gets an auto bid.
The other teams that don’t win a conference are ranked, and the top teams get in
Depending on what conference a team is, they will compete in either the North, South, East or West sections of the bracket
The last 8 teams to make the bracket will compete in the first 4 to decide who are the final teams to get in
It may be complicated, but it makes sense once completed.
To make things a bit simpler, all 2026 realignment moves will occur in this simulation. This means that the PAC-12 is back and UTEP and NIU are in the MW. Along with this LA Tech is in the Sun Belt and Notre Dame is in the American along with UConn. These moves make it simpler to do everything.
Here are the sections that the conferences are playing in
North - Big 10, MAC
South - SEC, C-USA
East - ACC, American
West - Big 12, Mountain West, PAC-12
The first simulation will come out today for the North section, meaning the Big 10 and MAC simulations. When you see the simulations, I would like you guys to rank the top 18 teams from 1-18, so you guys decide who gets in.
Enjoy!
