Brendan Sorsby

It has been a few days since Sorsby has been given the injunction and therefore eligible to play and I gave myself some time to maybe just think this over and see if my thoughts and opinions change and to not make a too emotional post, I also wanted to see what came out of the Big 12 schools meeting as there was rumors they may attempt to come together and boycott Texas Tech meetings and games in which it appears the meeting was just sharing thoughts about the situation. None of my thoughts and opinions have changed and I feel like I have mostly stayed the same on my feelings since it was announced/revealed about his gambling addiction.

To start, he should not play another snap of football ever again as this is not alleged anymore, this is confirmed as soon as he checked himself in for a gambling addiction. This should be a open shut case and even the NCAA is siding with everyone else with them stating similar sentiments I just said. But, apparently the NCAA has no control with the NCAA, if anyone can sue and they go to a local judge, the local judge will side with their local university. This is not a good look, this is out of control, and this might be what broke the camels back.

I know we can point at dozens of things and say that is what is killing college sports or college football, but this situation should be in the forefront if we look back five years from now and see where we were then and now (future, five years, now). The NCAA can't do anything, they are trying to get congress involved and they have yet to do anything, but instead the only progress we are getting is a potential expansion that only kills the regular season more than helps it. Power conference teams don't want to play power conference teams if they are not in their conference cause it helps their record and resumé to make it in the CFP and the Conference Championship Games are irrelevant since it doesn't factor in to the CFP selection (supposedly). Go to 16 or 24 and what will that do to the rest of the games? You aren't helping the smaller teams who don't deserve in in the first place, you just lock teams like Georgia and Ohio State to have a spot in the playoffs every year even if they go 8-4, you are just making the rich richer and making the regular season non existent since it won't hurt teams with good SOS and resumé as long as they win a certain amount of games.

In a whole, college football is a mess and there is a lot to point fingers at, allowing Brendan Sorsby to play is a mistake and should not even had been a thought. Now we are going to sit and wait to see what happens next if teams are successful to boycott Texas Tech games or if they were just bluffing hoping to push them to forgo the courts injunction and to kick him off the team, that is a stretch for sure but I wouldn't put it past schools thinking it may work. Let me know your thoughts down below of your thoughts and sorry if this was too emotional, I have had tons of thoughts of this situation and others for a while.
