My full free agency grades for every team

With training camp starting and most of the major free agents signed it’s about time for some free agency grades, so here are my grades for every team

AFC East

New England Patriots:A-

Their draft wasn’t that good in my opinion and the signings could have been better but the AJ Brown trade was awesome, getting a number one deep ball receiver for one of the best deep ball throwers in the league is awesome, it boosted their grade by a ton

Buffalo Bills:B

They had an ok offseason, they signed Bradley Chubb and traded for DJ Moore which were both good moves but they didn’t really have an elite move like the Patriots, the Moore trade was just like a lesser version of the AJ Brown trade

Miami Dolphins:B-

They traded Jaylen Waddle and didn’t bring back Tyreek Hill, their receiver room isn’t looking too good now, they replaced Tua with Malik Willis which I don’t like right now, I’m sure he will be better but I don’t know if he was worth the 20 million a year deal he got

New York Jets:B+

The Jets actually made a lot of good moves to help the defense, I liked the Minkah trade and Onyemata signing, and they got Demario Davis too, their draft was solid getting David Bailey and they were also able to get a bridge QB in Geno Smith

AFC North

Cleveland Browns:B

They were able to get a good return for Myles Garrett, even though it was hard for them to let him go they were able to get a young star, and 3 good draft picks which should set them up to maybe be good in a couple of years once they have a good QB

Baltimore Ravens:C+

They let Tyler Linderbaum walk which kind of sucks but that wasn’t their biggest miss of free agency, they also missed out on Maxx Crosby, they had the deal agreed on but backed out because of a physical, the only reason why they got a C+ is because they got Trey Hendrickson instead

Pittsburgh Steelers:B

They made some good moves, getting Rico Dowdle and Jamel Dean, they now have a great cornerback pairing and another solid running back to join the mix, one of the moves I loved the most though was the Jaquan Brisker deal, he’s gonna be good for them

Cincinnati Bengals:B

They would have had a better grade if they didn’t let Trey Hendrickson go to a division rival, they traded for one of the best defensive tackles in the league and made other great signings like Boye Mafe and Bryan Cook, they also got Jonathon Allen which having him and Dexter Lawrence is scary

AFC South

Jacksonville Jaguars:D+

They let Travis Etienne and Devin Lloyd walk, that’s already bad enough, but then they didn’t even resign the other guys that they had like Greg Newsome and Dynami Brown, some of their replacements were Montaric Brown, Dennis Gardeck, and Chris Rodriguez, they declined when they’re trying to contend

Houston Texans:A-

They made a lot of good moves like signing Reed Blankenship to help an already scary defense, adding Wyatt Teller and Braden Smith to an O-Line that was terrorized by the Pats in the divisional round, and adding defensive ends Logan Hall and Dominique Robinson to help Will Anderson on the D-Line

Indianapolis Colts:C-

They didn’t have a good offseason, overpaying Danny Dimes and Alex Pierce and letting Braden Smith walk to a division rival but besides that they really didn’t do much and kept most of their free agents so they do get a better grade than their division rival Jaguars

Tennessee Titans:B

They got Cam Ward a new receiver in Wandale Robinson who should be better than what they had last year and they decided to give Robert Salah a new look defense by adding Alontae Taylor and Johnathan Franklin-Myers, they would have had a higher grade but some of the deals were overpays

AFC West

Denver Broncos:B

They didn’t make too many signings, they did lose a couple good defenders but they resigned a lot of their core from last year and they traded for Jaylen Waddle to give Bo Nix a better receiver in hopes that he will be able to lead them to another great season

Kansas City Chiefs:B+

They signed Kenneth Walker but that was their only notable move besides the Fields trade, they added the superbowl MVP who absolutely torched one of the best run defenses in the league on the biggest stage in football, that’s really comforting knowing that the Chiefs won the superbowl multiple times since 2020

Los Angeles Chargers:B

They signed Tyler Biadasz and David Njoku which are two great moves for them, they could have done more, like get a true number one receiver, but they have to inch their way up because the AFC West is actually gonna be good again with the Chiefs healthy and the Raiders making moves

Las Vegas Raiders:A+

What did they do wrong? They drafted the future of the franchise in Fernando Mendoza, got him a mentor in Kirk Cousins, (whitest duo ever), got him a decent receiver, signed Tyler Linderbaum, and made great signings for the defense like Quay Walker, Nakobe Dean, and Kwitty Paye

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys:B

They didn’t made too many major moves but the moves they made were really good, they helped the secondary by signing Jalen Thompson and Cobie Durant and they helped the front seven by getting Rashan Gary, they just need a defensive anchor that they haven’t had since losing Micah Parsons

Philadelphia Eagles:B-

They resigned two of their best defensive linemen including signing Jalen Carter to a historic deal, they also signed Riq Woolen which is awesome, their only downside was that they lost Jaelan Phillips, Reed Blankenship, and Nakobe Dean

New York Giants:A-

They lost Wandale Robinson but that doesn’t matter when you look at what else they did, they traded Dexter Lawrence and got Francis Mauigoa out of that trade, they signed Tremaine Edmunds and Isaiah Likely, and they did so much more to help Jaxson Dart next year

Washington Commanders:B+

They made a ton of defensive signings, including Odafe Oweh, K’Lavon Chaisson, Amik Robertson, Nick Cross, and more, that defense already looks so much nicer than it did last year, they also made some decent offense signings like Chig Okonkwo

NFC North

Detroit Lions:C-

They lost 3 offensive lineman and 3 key defenders, they also traded David Montgomery which is sad, they signed Isiah Pacheco to replace him which is disappointing and they didn’t really have anything else, and then there was Terrion Arnold, that’s for another post though

Green Bay Packers:C

They lost a few decent players and made some decent defensive signings but they didn’t really have anything good or bad so they’re just gonna get a C grade, they did what they could

Minnesota Vikings:B-

They didn’t do too much, they signed Kyler Murray which now gives them two of the most incompetent quarterbacks in the league and they replaced Jalen Nailor with Jauan Jennings which is a solid upgrade, they also extended Brian O’Neill which is nice

Chicago Bears:C-

Basically the same thing as the Lions, they lost a ton of players, but for them it was multiple safeties and other defensive backs and Tremaine Edmunds, they did get Coby Bryant but he won’t fill the gap of 3 guys, besides that their free agency was quiet

NFC South

Tampa Bay Buccaneers:C-

They lost Mike Evans which is sad and they still haven’t resigned Lavonte David, and now it looks like Baker might not come back next year, all they got was Alex Anzalone and they lost key players like Evans, Jamel Dean, and Rachaad White

Atlanta Falcons:C

They just kind of replaced their players with guys who were on the same level, they didn’t really make many improvements, they didn’t have their first this year because of their trade with the Rams last year so they didn’t have a big draft either

Carolina Panthers:B+

They didn’t have too many big moves but they had two great ones, they added Devin Lloyd to lead the defense and Jaelan Phillips who brings them an elite edge rusher that they haven’t seen since before they traded Brian Burns

New Orleans Saints:B+

They made some good moves like signing David Edwards, Kaden Elliss, and Travis Etienne, but the Etienne deal was a head scratcher, they already have Alvin Kamara so signing another star running back doesn’t make sense, they didn’t move Kamara either which is even weirder

AFC West

Arizona Cardinals:B

They had some good additions on offense getting skill position depth in Tyler Allgeier, Kendrick Bourne, and Devin Duvernay, while they also signed Isaac Seumalo and Gardener Minshew, they didn’t do too much on the defense but they did get Andrew Wingard

San Francisco 49ers:B

They brought back Dre Greenlaw which is awesome and they signed Mike Evans and Christian Kirk to bolster the receiver core after losing Jauan Jennings, it’s looking even better now hearing that Pearsall might be injured again

Seattle Seahawks:C+

They resigned a lot of their key players from the Super Bowl run and made some decent under the radar signings like Dante Fowler but they also lost a lot of key players like Riq Woolen, Boye Mafe, Coby Bryant, and Kenneth Walker, I’m interested to see how they do next year

Los Angeles Rams:A++

They bolstered the secondary by trading for Trent McDuffie, that move already had people thinking that they would be the Super Bowl winner, and then they traded for Myles Garrett, how is that possible? And now it’s looking like an Aaron Donald return could happen, the only bad part about their moves was planning for the future by getting Ty Simpson instead of getting more help now

Which grades would you guys change?
