Jaguars-Liam Coen
I think if Baalke is 100% coming back, that could give Ben Johnson 2nd thoughts. Coen’s a name also heavily mentioned in the Jaguars search, and appears to be the plan B if they can’t get Johnson.
Bears-Ben Johnson
The question is for Johnson, who does he want to work with more? Poles or Baalke. He could just stay in Detroit another year if he doesnt like either, but if he wants to be a coach and is forced to choose, I’d say he goes with Poles.
Jets-Aaron Glenn
Glenn might also get the Saints job, but Glenn is a former Jets great who was a first round pick and 2 time pro bowler with them. He also fits what the “leader of men culture builder” archtype the Jets are looking for.
Saints-Joe Brady
The job here apparently is coming down to either Glenn or Brady. If Glenn opts for the Jets, then you can pencil in this former Louisiana legend with ties to the Saints here.
Patriots-Mike Vrabel
This one seems like the most obvious one of this cycle. Mike Vrabel was a key part of the Patriots defense early in the dynasty, is familiar with Robert Kraft, and it’s the worst kept secret in the NFL that the Pats are Vrabel’s dream job.
UPDATED:
Raiders-Brian Flores
This job is Mike Vrabel’s if he wants it. It did seem that before Mayo was the surprisingly fired that Vrabel was penciled in for this job, however, I do believe that he wants the Patriots job, which also is his if he wants it. This likely means the Raiders will have to go with Plan B, but I am not entirely confident on who their plan B is imo. My 2 best guesses are Brian Flores and Kliff Kingsbury. Brian Flores makes the most sense, as he does share a ton of qualities with Vrabel, however, Kingsbury and potentially Coen could also be strong candidates here if the Raiders want to go offense.
Cowboys-Kellen Moore
Because Jerry Jones waited so long to make a decision on Mike McCarthy, the Cowboys were shut out of Mike Vrabel entirely, and due to the way the NFL interview windows are set up, they are virtually shut out of Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn as well, meaning, the Cowboys will not get the cream of the crop, and they only have themselves to blame. Jerry might try and get a college coach, but right now, I’d say the favorite is Moore. Moore previously surged to stardom as the Cowboys OC, and the Joneses have continued to remain huge fans of Moore. It’s early, but if I had to make a choice, I’d say the Cowboys go with Moore.
