The same story is repeating itself. The name has changed from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers but the same story can happen again.

March 4, 2008: After a public battle with the Packers organization, Favre announces his retirement.

August 6, 2008: Favre unretires and is traded by the Packers to the New York Jets for a conditional fourth-round draft pick.

2008 Season: Favre (39) plays a single season with the Jets, leading them to a 9-7 record but missing the playoffs. April 14, 2009: Favre is traded again, this time to the Minnesota Vikings, his favorite team.

2009-2010 Seasons: Favre (40) enjoys success with the Vikings, reaching the NFC Championship game in 2009 but losing to the New Orleans Saints. He retires for the second (and final) time after the 2010 season.

For the second time in 15 years, the Green Bay Packers are traded an aging icon to the New York Jets. The Packers agreed to deal quarterback Aaron Rodgers and their 2023 first-round pick (No. 15) and a 2023 fifth-round pick (No. 170) to the Jets for New York's 2023 first-round pick.

Last season, Rodgers (39) was tackled by the Buffalo Bills' Leonard Floyd about five minutes into their season opener. Still holding the football, the quarterback tried to run from the defensive end but was brought down to the turf by Floyd.

Afterward, Rodgers appeared to be OK and stood up. But he soon sat down on the field and was helped to the sidelines. An MRI revealed a tear in his Achilles tendon.

The story and timeline keeps repeating is prime for a trade. Aaron Rodgers has always tried to step out from the shadow of Bret Favre this is his last skol in history.
