My New York Giants Coaching Candidate Tier List

Welcome to my second NFL coach candidate list. I assume you all know the rundown here and I will keep it like that for this list. Below will be the link to the Titans coach candidate list and if that is not there than I have made a link to my NFL coach candidate lists.

https://fanspo.com/nfl/s/titans/p/zFcHIBiyFsokT3/my-tennessee-titans-coaching-candidate-tier-list

So, what got us here? Simple, it started with the offense. The coach didn't have his QB, the GM let Saquon walk, and lack of talent and inexperience hurt them last season. Then in the off-season, the coach wanted a QB, his QB and so they traded up to get Jaxson Dart. They also signed two QB's to be able let Dart sit and learn behind two vets. The season came an they started 0-3. Daboll, in the start of his fourth season, feeling pressure that he needs to do something to keep his job so he starts Dart and he instantly gave them a spark and won two games, but that magic they had with Dart and the defense under performing expectations started wearing off and showing cracks.

At 2-8, they decided to let Daboll go and let the GM decide who the next guy is. That could be a great thing with a fresh start and with guys to build around like Dart, Skattebo, Nabers, Andrew Thomas, Thibodeaux, Brian Burns, and Abdul Carter makes this an appealing job. Or letting the GM who people are not as flattered with (and rightfully so, he took the bait on Jevon Holland and is trapped with him in a multiple year contract) that could drive the top HC candidates away who don't want to work with this particular GM. This list is barring the latter and assuming the former.

From Texas Kid To Big Apple Living

  • Kliff Kingsbury, Washington Commanders (OC; 2024-?)

I think a coach like Kliff is ideal for New York (mostly for the OC position, but we already know Kliff will call plays if he takes the reins). He is considered a QB genius coaching guys like Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes in college and then taking the Cardinals job and hand picking Kyler Murray as his QB even though he already had Josh Rosen on the roster. He is currently the OC for Jayden Daniels, and after that rookie season he had, teams, owners, and general managers are banging their hands together like the monkey with the cymbals wanting him to turn their QB into Jayden Daniels (worst words to use at the moment, but I digress). The Giants have everything Kliff wants in an offense. He has his dual threat QB, the RB room is honestly low key stacked, he has a WR that has a All Pro ceiling, he has a solid LT (when healthy) and a manageable OL. Obviously they are maybe three pieces away (on both sides) from doing exactly what the Commanders did last year and all they need is this coming off season to fix those issues.

Defensive Mindset Coaches

  • Jesse Minter, Los Angeles Chargers (DC; 2024-?)

First off, I do not think the Giants need a offensive minded coach to replace an offensive minded coach. I think they need a defensive minded coach and hire a vet OC to help in Dart's development. Second off, Minter is great, young, defensive minded coach working in the college ranks before taking a job with the Ravens. He left one Harbaugh for another and coached one of the best defensive teams in the CFP. I fully expect him to get a job this coaching cycle.

  • Jeff Hafley, Green Bay Packers (DC; 2024-?)

For the people who say that he would be nothing without Micah Parsons after one season on the Packers should look back and realize that he was coaching a top five defense last season without Micah Parsons, not to mention they were bottom ten the season before they hired Hafley.

  • Vance Joseph, Denver Broncos (DC; 2023-?)

The former Broncos HC who is now the DC there has proven that he deserves a second chance. First time around, I did not believe he was ready and he was walking into a terrible situation in the first place. I think he shown he deserves a second chance after his response after the historic beat down and calls for his firing. His defense turned it around soon after and last season was considered the best defense in the country, this season no different.

  • Steve Spagnuolo, Kansas City Chiefs (DC; 2019-?)

There are people who want him to go back and become a HC again, I kinda think he should stick with staying a DC until he decides to hang it up, but he is certainly considered qualified for the job. Considered one of the best defensive developers in the game and can probably get the best out of guys like Thibodeaux and Carter from day one.

  • Robert Saleh, San Francisco 49ers (DC; 2017-20, 2025-?)

Well, Giants fans. How do you like this choice? The Jets situation was built to fail anyways and he was able to get the best out of that explosive defense but there was no hope with that lackluster offense. If the Giants say "I want him" I will completely loss it.

Well... Um...

  • Bill Belichick, North Carolina (2025-?)

So... Saleh doesn't seem so bad after all? For real though, we all know he wants back in the NFL and is trying to show he still got it in Chapel Hill, but I don't know whoever started that rumor was really being serious or watched any football before.

There you have it, another coach list out. I would also like to add that there are three college coaches that I did not add to the list, but elected not to due to being big names in the college coaching cycle right now and it could just be a gimmick to get paid at their currently employed program. Also, Mavericks GM list should be out in a few hours.
