The stats STILL point to Maye after a week 16 struggle

Maye just came off his worst showing of the season in a 35-31 defeat of the bills. Note they still got 31, which should have been enough to win at home. This loss isn't on Maye. It's on McDaniels. He took his foot off the gas pedal with the lead, and it cost us all our momentum and ultimately the game. With that being said, let's take a look at the stat sheet, shall we? Maye is currently 5th in yards, around 150 behind Stafford. Considering Staff has 61 more attempts, its about time he surpasses him. Maye is averaging 8.7 yards per pass, good for 2nd itl, only 0.1 behind Darnold and 0.8 ahead of Stafford, more significant than it sounds. Maye passes for more yards when he does pass, which is just less than Stafford, That's efficiency. Which brings me to my next point. Maye still leads the league in cmp% at 70.9, 0.9% ahead of 2nd ranked Josh Allen. Where does Stafford rank among current starters you may ask? Just around 10th, we can nitpick who above him should really count, regardless he's fringe top 10 in the metric. PASSING MORE DOESNT MAKE YOU BETTER. Only real thing Stafford has that I haven't mentioned is TD/Turnover ratio, 23/7 for Maye, 37/6 for Stafford. Add Mayes rushing TDs and you're looking at 27/7. Not bad seeing how Maye doesn't throw goal line fades to Davante Adams. Maye also has more total yards, erasing the 150 yard gap with 362 yards on the ground. But where are my Matt Staff fanboys at?
