Colts give up quite a bit to leapfrog the Texans for the 1st overall pick, ending the QB debate by taking Bryce Young. The Colts, with this new QB, could look to be a sleeper team akin to the Jaguars of this year, with a sneaky good roster. The Texans then take the next best QB with Stroud, who gives them a better look at their rebuilding blueprint. The Cardinals fill a need in a generational talent in Anderson, who immediately fills the hole left by J.J. Watt's retirement. The Bears get another amazing talent along with their haul, creating an underrated and young defense with the selection of Jalen Carter. Seattle looks to bolster their pass rush with Tyree Wilson, pairing him with Uchena Nwosu. Wilson is a natural in the Seahawks defense and adds to their youth, it also allows the Seahawks to get some depth at a position they were starting Bruce Irvin at this year. Devon Witherspoon is a great selection for the Lions, as they build a secondary that already had solid pieces like Kerby Joesph and Jeff Okudah. Witherspoon is a great prospect that thrived on a strong Illinois defense last year, and he shines on tape with his man-to-man defense skills. The Raiders make up for their Alex Leatherwood mistake with Paris Johnson, who is a surefire prospect in the eyes of most scouts. Myles Murphy is the best guy left for the Falcons as they look to build a better defense in a new scheme. Pressure always helps any defense, especially one that only had 21 sacks on the year. While Sam Darnold looked very sharp down the stretch for the Panthers, there's absolutely no reason to not take a risk on Will Levis, especially with the hire of the offensive minded Frank Reich. Reich helped with the Eagles and turned their offense into one of the best in the NFL with Carson Wentz, and he'll have another chance to work with a strong prospect in Levis. Quentin Johnston to the Eagles as a great complement to A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith is a scary sight for any secondary. The Lions jump up seven spots, trading with the Titans to fill a need on the defensive line with the selection of Bryan Bresee. Bresee will help bolster a pass rush that finished with 39 sacks last year, as well as helping a middling rush defense. Houston takes a flier on Nolan Smith, who would've been a hotter prospect if he didn't tear his pectoral muscle earlier this year. He can be seen as a future cornerstone for the defense alongside Derek Stingley. Lukas Van Ness has recently been shooting up draft boards, and is subsequently taken by the Jets, who can pair him with Jermaine Johnson and rid themselves of Carl Lawson's contract. The Vikings jump up 9 spots to take Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who looked like the surefire WR1 after last years efforts, but wasn't able to show out this past year due to injury. If fully healthy, Kirk Cousins has an absolute plethora of options to throw to. The Packers pick is more dependent on if Lazard leaves and whether they find a suitable replacement. If those occur, then Mayer is a fantastic selection, as he can be Rodgers'(or whoever the QB is) main chain mover. Anthony Richardson's dual threat capabilities will hearken back to the days of an electric rookie RGIII. While the most raw of all the QB prospects, Richardson's athleticism and arm are can't miss in a prospect. Skoronski falls right into Pittsburgh's lap, and they would take him with no hesitation. He could be seen as Pickett's blindside blocker for years to come. After trading down with Detroit, the Titans surprise many by selecting Josh Downs, but he makes more sense then Addison since he fills the slot. This allows Burks to be out wide and better use his size. The Buccaneers need quite a bit of help on the offensive line and O'Cyrus Torrence has the upside to be the best offensive lineman in the class, as shown by his stellar year in the power five after his jump from Louisiana. The Seahawks build a young, hungry secondary with the addition of Joey Porter Jr. and his amazing coverage skills. While not the turnover machine that Tariq Woolen was last year, he was one of the best shutdown corners in the NCAA last year. He also has a bit of insight into the toughness of the league, with his father being a longtime linebacker. The Chargers look to leave Micheal Davis in the dust after his terrible play against Jacksonville by taking Cam Smith out of South Carolina. Smith would join an already loaded secondary that features Derwin James, Asante Samuel Jr., Nasir Adderley and J.C. Jackson if he isn't a shell of his New England self. The Ravens look to bolster their pass rush with the addition of B.J. Ojulari, pairing him with another young rusher in Odafe Oweh. Learning from Justin Houston and JPP is also a great plus. The Patriots get a rock solid tackle to replace Trent Brown, who wasn't what he used to be last year. Harrison pairs with another sensational lineman in Michael Onwenu to form a very solid line. The Jagaurs form a strong cornerbacking duo(or trio if you throw in Shaquill Griffin) with Christian Gonzalez and Tyson Campbell, whose development last year was one of the reasons for Jacksonville's success. If the same can be done for Gonzalez, then it'll be lights out in Duval County. Zay Flowers joins the bevy of other receivers in New York, as this allows for the Giants to let some of those many receivers to walk in order to spend money on more pressing needs. Dallas solidifies their defensive front with the selection of Siaki Ika. This pairs him with other studs like Osa Odighizuwa and Demarcus Lawrence, forming a strong pass rush to help with the lack of secondary pressure the current Cowboys have. Kansas City trades up with Buffalo to draft Brian Branch, who looks to take Juan Thornhill's spot and free the Chiefs of maybe extending Thornhill by developing a young secondary that already boasts some studs like Trent Mcduffie and L'jarius Sneed. The Bengals just take the best lineman. Anything for them to not play Hakeem Adeniji. Broderick Jones fits the bill. The Broncos need a bit of help with the linebackers, as A.J. Johnson and Josey Jewell are both a bit on the older side. They select Trenton Simpson to help fix the issue and give the linebacker corp some buzz. Buffalo looks to fix Von Miller's production if he doesn't come back to form with a player not named Boogie Basham. Will McDonald IV has been looking better as a prospect recently and could stay around longer than Von and seems like a perfect complement to Greg Rousseau. And finally, to help develop a secondary that could be one of the best the league has ever seen, the Eagles pass on Bijan to take a young Kelee Ringo, who after the probable re-signings of James Bradberry and C.J. Gardner-Johnson, develop Ringo into one of the most sound corners in the league. He showed flashes of greatness at Georgia, and with development, could definitley see those flashes come to fruition in the NFL. If you agree or disagree with any of these selections, don't be afraid to share your thoughts in the comments. We're still relatively early in the draft process, so many of these takes are sure to change. Thank you for taking a look at this early mock :)
