Note: After review the picks should be split going to Miami and Milwaukee.
Let me know your thoughts on this trade in the comments. Of course this only happens in the world where Giannis asks out. Below are some of my reasonings for this trade-as much as this can be justified.
Miami Heat: They finally acquire Damian Lillard in a trade! Congrats! You get Isaiah Joe and get out of two onerous contracts to boot- Hot Dog! In all seriousness, Damian Lillard's injury is going to cause him to just be a massive cap hit next year without any upside, nor future prospects of him being a real difference maker; however, Coach Spo is an evil wizard and I will never doubt his ability to extract the final drops of usefulness from aging veterans. Isaiah Joe is a useful bench player that the Heat will have for...however long they decide to keep him? Plus, they get to make Sam Presti release his goblin fingers from a couple picks to go their way.
OKC Thunder: This section could be an entire dissertation with this particular trade and the various machinations of it, but I am going to keep it somewhat brief. Giannis + SGA + Chet + most of the rest of the core = NBA Champs. You give up what you must to put those guys together. Kyle Anderson would likely be waived immediately after this trade. Get ready for the reign of the OKC Thunder over the Western Conference.
Milwaukee Bucks: After a disappointing series loss for the Bucks to the Pacers in just 5 games, Giannis wants a change of scenery and requests a trade. So they decide to blow the whole thing up! The package that the Thunder can supply will keep the Bucks somewhat competitive in the lower tier of the Eastern Conference. They require a package like this since they do not have control of their own first round pick until 2031, so tanking is out of the question, unless you can trade for your own picks back with New Orleans. Some of the contracts being acquired are disastrous to say the least, but the Bucks can't be trusted to draft well, so they must be given the All-Star level talent in Jalen Williams.
