Lakers Receive: Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, & Markieff Morris. Grade: C+ Reason: The Lakers have no depth, outside of SF & PF with Dalton Knecht at SF, & Rui Hachimura and DFS at PF. Plus, they still have to pay Luka his lower extension this offseason, if they want to content even the slightest next year, which is still a long shot with LeBron's age, and the depth of the team, having no quality backup PG or SG if Luka or Austin Reaves gets injured, and no quality big man, having Jaxson Hayes and Christian Wood.
Mavericks Receive: Anthony Davis, Max Christie, & LA's 2029 first rounder. Grade: B- Reason: With a clogged back-court in Dallas consisting of AD, PJ Washington, Derrick Lively, and Daniel Gafford, I could see this potentially working out in Dallas. Even though Spencer Dinwiddie or Max Christie would be the starting PG, this team has potential to go deep this postseason, if they stay healthy. But, if they can't, their future is pretty bleak. They have 2 aging stars, on large contracts, and a 3rd older, former star on a longer but cheaper contract, they would have to draft and sign greatly well to content after 5 years have passed.
Jazz Receive: Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2 2025 2nd Round Picks (1 LA, 1 Dallas) Grade: D+ Reason: They're the Jazz. Outside of getting draft capital, all they got was a project player instead of keeping a veteran PG in Patty Mills who they traded on 2/1/2025 to the Clippers with Drew Eubanks, and got back PJ Tucker and Mo Bamba, whom they waived shortly after. Their future is still shot, and they have no chance of contending in the years to come.
