Cooper Flagg High End: Jayson Tatum x Scottie Pippen Low End: mid-late career Josh Smith Median outcome: Pascal Siakam/Andrei Kirilenko Pros: Defense, scoring, playmaking, motor, frame, age upside Cons: Shot consistency, handle Verdict: Cooper Flagg has grown over the season to be one of the best freshman prospects ever with his ability to impact the game on both sides of the floor at a high level. His ability on defense as both an on and off ball player has helped Duke get to this point in this season and his activity on defense projects for him to be a high-level player even if the shot does not develop. The offense is incredibly polished for someone just turning 18, flashing positive development with his passing in p&r plays or just finding the open man. Flagg is a three-level scorer with ability to find his spots and either drive to the rim or get his shot off with a polished looking jumper. However, his handle does need improvement as he often tends to settle for the latter with a tough midrange shot on drives to the rim. Another issue is just general consistency from the perimeter as while he has improved over the months, he was struggling a bit from 3 to start the season. Worst case scenario if the shot does not develop and just stagnates for whatever reason, Flagg can still notch a good 15ppg alone on his off-ball scoring repertoire with cuts, dunks, and transition baskets like high end third options on championship teams.
