Baylor Sheierman - Creighton (SG/SF/PF - HT: 6’7” - WING: -

- One of the best shooters in college
- More versatile offensively, great playmaker too, can shoot off the dribble or catch
- Great rebounder
- Not athletic
- Still a solid defender but not good
- Older prospect, could be a good 2nd round pickup for a contending team needing shooting, but pretty limited upside
- Shades of Khris Middleton, Gordon Hayward, Georges Niang, Joe Ingles

Joueur de devoir qui artille derrière l'arc avec efficacité. Carrière assurée en NBA grâce à son hustle et QI basket, Scheierman n'est pas sans rappeler un certain Joe Ingles dans le registre...

Don't see him translating to the next level. Elite scorer with good feel but don't think he's athletic enough to playmaker the way he does in college at the next level and think he will get cooked defensively. Luke Babbit

Baylor Scheierman just does everything. He was the first player to record a triple double at Creighton since 1985.

Offensively he does whatever is needed. he can run an offense at times, he can play off the ball, as a 3pt shooter, and can attack the basket and make the right play for his teammates.

Defensively at 6'7", big and smart, he will be a more than welcome addition to any team defensively. He won't be that guy, but a guy that will increase a team's defensive rating.

Ceiling: 2017 Nic Batum? (Kind of a hard player for me) Floor: Dallas Jae Crowder Comparison: Nic Batum

Favorite Fits:

  1. Boston Celtics

  2. Minnesota Timberwolves

  3. Milwaukee Bucks

STRENGTHS:

  • Shoots the hell out of the ball; shot 13 three point attempts per 100 possessions in his final year at Creighton and shot a great 38% on those shots, coming off of movement and in a standstill

  • A strong body who has good touch and is able to make is shots at a respectable clip when he drives to the rim (63%)

  • A physical dribbler who will use his body to put defenders in jail and keep the ball moving

  • A damn good rebounder for his position an as a 6'6" bigger wing at nine boards a night, does a good job of crashing and doing the little things, such as being a screen setter

WEAKNESSES:

  • Athleticism is improving, but is not athletic enough to be a threat on either end of the court

  • His defense is worrisome; has very heavy feet and does not do a good job of sliding his feet and stay in front of defenders, especially against ball handlers who make sharp changes of direction. Could be borderline unplayable if nothing gets fixed on that end

  • A fifth year senior and about to turn 24 years old, seems to have a cap on what his ceiling as an NBA player could be

Best role upon entering the NBA: Catch and shoot shooter to run floppy actions for where he has opportunities to launch, as well as create when ran off of the line

Player Comparison: Shades of Duncan Robinson and Doug McDermott

Pros: Great scorer at all levels, Good-strong-semi athletic dunks and lay's. tremendous rebounder for a guard. Can play some D. Great 3 ball and smooth shot form.

Cons: A little slow and handles suffer from that. Not really elite at anything but boarding and scoring maybe.

Range: Mid 2nd-Euro ball. Age: Old guy Aura: 5/10

Notes: idk he has a lil more hype than I would see but has good intangibles just a low ceiling.
