The initial rankings are at random and are not officially ranked. Not an official ranking until I get their profiles done. The board will change after each player profile is finished. Everything is subject to change after every finished film session and write-up. The first 53 prospects (in the Top 53) are finished and I hope to get all 60 prospects finished by the the June 26 Draft.

Happy Draft Season!…

Part 1 of revisiting trades that almost went through. (Imagine the Suns' #4 pick in 2017 being included, I couldn't include picks) Plenty of NBA stars were traded in the 2017 NBA offseason: Paul George to OKC, Chris Paul to Houston, Kyrie Irving to Boston, and Jimmy Butler to Minnesota as a few of the big name trades in that offseason.

On draft day in 2017, the Cleveland Cavaliers were pushing hard to trade for Paul George, a wing they thought could match up better against a Golden State Warriors team with Kevin Durant. They discussed multiple frameworks, including a three-team deal that would have sent Kevin Love to Denver. The Cavaliers were nearing a deal with Indiana and the Phoenix Suns that would have sent Paul George and Eric Bledsoe to Cleveland, Kyrie Irving and Channing Frye to Phoenix, and Jared Dudley, Iman Shumpert and the #4 pick in 2017 to Indiana. Keep in mind that this was before Kyrie's trade request from Cleveland.

The deal seemed to be good from Indiana's standpoi…

The fit of Anunoby on the Grizzlies really intrigues me. For Memphis, I do not think they should keep trotting along with the development of Ziaire Williams and the other wings on the roster. I'm imagining the defensive lineup around Ja, with Anunoby as the point of attack defender, Bane as the tagger, Brooks as help side and Jackson as the rim protector, and it just fits. A steep price with the first rounders, but I am not too sure that any time can acquire him without a solid ransom. I love the defensive fit with Memphis.

Toronto should understand that this roster peaked and that it is time to rebuild with Scottie Barnes as the centerpiece. The development staff in Toronto has been awesome for a number of years, with a bunch of late round selections (Siakam, Trent, Anunoby, Powell) and undrafted players (VanVleet), so I have trust that Ziaire can become the next Anunoby for Toronto. He is young, has good athletic tools, and his shooting progression and aggression should be able to c…

If Phoenix wanted to revamp the bench using the Jae Crowder piece, this would be best case scenario for Phoenix.

Phoenix gets the shot creator they need for off the bench to help replace the bench scoring from Cam Johnson, who is now in the starting lineup. Vanderbilt comes in for Phoenix as a young wing defender who is still trying to improve his jumper. In the meantime, his defensive versatility is what Phoenix sorely lacks and he also brings athleticism and potential in the pick and roll. Gay is going to be the offensive player that Craig couldn't be for Phoenix for the last year. He is up there in age and the defense may be suspect, but Vanderbilt will help bail him out on some possessions. A bench core that consists of Payne, Clarkson, Gay, Vanderbilt, and Saric is a big step up from Craig, Shamet, and Lee securing big roles.

Utah gets the elusive first round pick that they crave. Players such as Torrey Craig and Jae Crowder may not have a long-term spot on their roster since th…

Weird trade, I get it.

Durant only wants to play for Phoenix. A deal with another team who clearly has a better theoretical package would have been done already if Durant wanted to play with that team. That's why Phoenix does not give up much, because they do not have to outbid anyone and they're not going to outbid against themselves and give in to the asking price (which is why I do not expect Mikal Bridges to be a part of a package, although it would not surprise me). I am willing to bet that, unless he changes his preference, Kevin Durant will be a Sun (if traded).

For Brooklyn, they have to pounce on this Donovan Mitchell opportunity, and it seems like he just wants to be home in New York. Whether he gets traded to the Knicks or Nets, I think he just wants to be back home. They can't allow him to go to the cross-town rival, and if they want the best player they can for Durant, this is the only opportunity. Otherwise, they are not going to get a great package unless Durant decide…

This is a mock draft that is solely based off of my own evaluations, playing the role of GM for all 30 NBA teams and making the best decision for all teams involved, which includes trades. This is a mock I created for my podcast.

Trade 1: Bradley Beal to Sacramento for Davion Mitchell, Harrison Barnes, Richaun Holmes, 4th pick, future first round pick

Trade 2: Lu Dort, 12th pick to Portland for 7th pick

Trade 3: 8th pick to Indiana for 31st pick, top-6 protected 2023 first round pick, Cleveland Cavaliers 2023 first round pick

Trade 4: Jerami Grant to Portland for Keon Johnson, 12th pick…
