Manek isn't afraid of getting dirty and can score in a variety of ways. He's a hard nosed defender, who also has some pretty cool hair. His age won't give him time to develop though. He probably isn't ready to get much of any kind of minutes right away and won't be given much of a chance. Most teams want to develop their young guys, not their 24 year olds. For that reason, I highly doubt he'll stick in the NBA.

Height 6'9

Weight 220 lbs

Wingspan 7'1

DOB 9/4/98 (Draft Age: 23)

Pre-Draft Team North Carolina Tarheels

Offense

  • Good looking sustainable perimeter shooter. PnP threat.

  • Smart roller.

  • Strong screener.

  • Not much in the way of athleticism, but makes up for it with high basketball IQ.

  • Decent post passer and passer up top.

Defense

  • A little ability to protect the rim in spurts, mostly coming for weak side help blocks.

  • Has strength as a post defender.

  • Poor foot speed, won't be able to defend much beyond 5's and some 4's, also might not be a total liability.

Swing Factors

  • Defensive Competency - If completely overmatched by all bigs and unable to slide over to help a bit on defense then Manek stands little chance to play in the league.

  • Rebounding - Drawn away from the rim a ton as a extremely high volume perimeter shooter Manek still produced some decent rebounding totals. It will go a long way if he can help a club win rebounding battles on a nightly basis.

Role

  • A floor stretching big who plays high IQ basketball.

  • LOW: Manek can't defend and his passing, screening, rolling doesn't work in the league. He goes overseas to become a key contributor for a club.

  • HIGH: Immediately Brady is knocking down perimeter shots, and playing smart heads up basketball. Defensively he is a help side rim protector in spurts and a plus rebounder. Manek is a sought after stretch big for rotations.

Brady Manek was a vital part of a championship team which I got to watch all tournament, and he has risen in draft boards via pro days and private workouts. Manek is a good screener who needs to be covered in pick and pop scenarios. He’s also not a bad roller. He’s very unathletic but he makes up for it with great basketball IQ. His defense is mostly a work in progress but he has shown a bit as a good shot blocker.

I believe Manek will go undrafted due to his athletic woes but shine in summer league and end up on a g league team. He will eventually get a bench role and possibly rotational as a stretch big.

After a very successful senior season at UNC where the Tarheels reached the National Championship, Manek is ready to take the next step and go to the NBA. Manek will appeal to teams based off the fact that he is a pure sharpshooter at 6'9. Manek works best off ball. Although he doesn't excel at anything else, there is always a market for shooters in the NBA especially if that shooter is 6'9.

Very underrated three point scorer. Uses his size to create space, sometimes gets that space to score in the post. Improved his stock during the NCAA Tournament and his championship run.

Senior, too old to compete in the NBA, not even sure if he can match up defensively with top league talent, was bullied by Agbaji in that final game.
