Entering 2022 many people spoke about a lesser draft class this year without high end talent. Coming off of a star studded 21 class it may be true that there is not the volume of potential franchise centerpiece talent available in this class, but to call it a weak class would be viewing the class from a spoiled perspective. This 22 class offers a truly diverse ranging skill set of guys from many regions of the world and in different stages of development. It is not true that there may not be franchise centerpiece talent available in the top five selections. The big men depth in the class in particular offers a lot of intrigue with many to choose from and project.

The NBA sits at a pivotal point in positionless basketball as we've seen a pair of centers become perennial MVP candidates in, Jokic and Embiid. Big Board based upon where players will be entering year 5. This is where rookie contracts expire, and primes of career typically begin to take shape for players who stick. After a surprising finish to the NBA finals and Giannis asserting himself as an NBA champion it's clear the league has undergone considerable evolution in the last decade plus. Teams may be looking for the next monster sized athlete who can relentlessly attack the rim for easy buckets. The big man still has its place in the game and there are handfuls of NBA Centers who can be efficient and rank highly in regard for doing two or three things really well- Finishing layups/dunks, rebounding and sometimes blocking shots. Which ones also understand defensive positioning, sealing, and footwork? Some. Which ones are defensive anchors in the new sense? Which bigs can guar…
