Offense

  • Really good shooting mechanics. Great elevation, smooth release. Should be an outstanding shooter.

  • Shows great ability to rise up coming off screens and the dribble.

  • Very quick straight line speed.

  • Three level scoring prospect.

  • Won't really turn the ball over, but hasn't taken on any playmaking duties either.

Defense

  • Average rebounder for his size.

  • Doesn't create turnovers, and historically been known to struggle defensively especially in PNRs around screens.

Swing Factors

  • Above average skill outside of shooting? - Not known for showing up on the stat sheet for any skill aside from scoring. Can he offer anything else?

  • Defense - There is feeling he may not be able to keep up with NBA size screening him. If he is bbq chicken on the defensive end it really limits his effectiveness as a player.

  • Playmaking potential - There hasn't been any sort of overdevelopment in assists. Without this his offense becomes strictly scoring.

Role

  • A technically sound shooter with the ability to rise up from behind and inside the perimeter.

  • LOW: Struggling to defend anyone, and not shooting as well with NBA closeouts Bortolani returns to International competition honing his craft as a deadly scorer.

  • HIGH: Bortolani's quickness pans out and he's able to get to the rim, rise up and shoot from anywhere. He becomes a three-level scorer. He is a capable guard defender. Giordano is used as a front of the bench scorer who gets buckets when called upon.
