Big Board Rankings

Strengths

  • "Shredded

  • powerful frame. Already has the body to battle with NBA bigs. Wide shoulders

  • long arms. Mobile for his size. Body type that could thicken up but has done a great job of staying in shape -- 7-4 wingspan helps him play above the rim when he has a runway."

  • "High-motor big who runs hard on the break. He frequently beats defenses up the floor

  • and displays great coordination on finishes."

  • "Savvy post scorer who displays a wide range of moves

  • including drop steps

  • face-ups

  • and up-and-unders from either side of the block."

  • "Battles hard in the paint

  • using his broad shoulders to seal off defenders and seize close positioning."

  • "Flashes occasional shooting ability. He hit only 32 percent of his jump shots in college

  • but converted 77 percent of his free throws. He has the soft touch and confidence to improve."

  • "Bully on the boards; he could be a weapon on the offensive glass because of his instincts for tracking the ball."

  • "Aggressive defender with a knack for blocking shots; he did well playing in zone as the anchor of the defense."

  • "Tough

  • physical and energetic big man who plays with an always-hot motor on both ends"

  • "Strong presence on the interior

  • especially as a rebounder and post scorer"

  • "Affects shots around the rim with his impeccable timing

  • smarts

  • and 7-foot-4 wingspan"

Areas to Improve

  • "Strong and long but lacks elite height at 6-foot-9 and doesn''t make up for it with great leaping ability."

  • "Lacks explosiveness

  • which hinders his ability to finish inside on rolls or second-chance opportunities. He’ll need to master touch finishes."

  • "Poor passer who looks to shoot too often with the ball in his hands. When he does pass

  • it’s often inaccurate or forced through traffic."

  • "His shooting mechanics are inconsistent—his feet often flare wildly—but the long-term potential is there."

  • "Needs to improve his lateral quickness to survive defending on the perimeter."

  • "More traditional

  • old-school big in college despite flashes of shooting touch; took just 20 3s in college and made 25%"

  • "Committed nearly three times as many turnovers (71) as assists (27); shaky decision-maker and passer"

  • "Wasn''t asked often to defend on the perimeter at Washington

  • but likely will be asked to do so in the NBA -- where he''ll likely struggle"

A dawg on the inside post game. Uses his 7''4" wingspan to finish over defenders with hooks and around them on up and unders. Good drop steps. At his best he can put on a clinic sealing the defender. Brute force. Very good Offensive rebounder 2.7 a game with room to grow if asked. High energy guy. Love his motor. Positioning and footwork stand out more and more the more you see him. Great foundation. Puts himself in a position to maximize his length and strength. Constantly has leverage in the paint. Will be able to guard 7''0 because of the wingspan and effort. May be able to defend a little bit in space, but that is still largely unknown. Runs the floor well. Vertical athlete with space and time. Oop candidate, even from deep. Needs a little more twitch to be an elite rim runner. Just 11/34 jump shooting. Potential to expand range. Faceup game looks to have been in the process of being added. Stroke looks good enough to expand from 3. Playmaking is a big concern. Had some Shaqtin a foo
