Offense
Some of the best handles in the class. Can get to a lot of places on the court. A formidable PnR ball handler.
Not the most efficient of players.
Racks up buckets, assists, turnovers and missed shots often all in the same game.
Streaky jump shooter. When its good its good.
Can play off the ball and find his shot in C&S situations.
Playmaking abilities are evident as he's all over the court weaving and eyeing for potential targets. Ball security can be an issue.
Defense
Ability to get up in his matchups grill on ball.
Active hands and the ability to grab a couple steals for fast break opportunities.
Undersized probably can only guard 1's and some 2's.
Swing Factors
Shooting Consistency - Akinjo can knock down shots from all three levels, but his percentages have wavered over four years. He will have little room for these inconsistencies with the talent pool awaiting him at the next level.
Assist to Turnover ratio - While an outstanding high energy playmaker in college he was also a liability with turnovers at times. Again the little room for error awaiting him calls for cleaned up ball security.
Role
An offensive spark plug guard who can score and facilitate in spurts.
LOW: Akinjo's size, skillset and consistency just doesn't quite cut it at the next level. He winds up bouncing around the G-League before finding himself overseas.
HIGH: Akinjo shows out at the summer league, secures a roster spot and works his way into a rotation. He comes into games and provides a sparkplug for offenses as a secondary scorer/creator/playmaker. He earns respect around the league in this role while also defending 1 guards a bit above average. Akinjo goes on to have a career leading bench's offensive units.
